This flower is cultivated everywhere in Bangladesh. At present, it is being sufficiently cultivated in different districts of Bangladesh on a commercial basis. This plant grows in all types of clay, sand, silt, loam soil, but it does not grow well in waterlogged and shaded areas. Its pH level is 6-7.

Marigold seed production season September-October is the best time to plant the seeds. Mix 60% sandy loam soil, 20% rotted cow dung and 20% sand in the soil mixture.

Marigold seeds are collected after full bloom and drying. When the flower is completely dry, it is time to collect the seeds. Separate the seeds from the flowers and keep them dry. After drying the flowers, separate the seeds and keep them in a clean and dry place.

The process of making seedlings from marigold seeds is quite simple and if followed correctly the chances of success are high. Keep the seedbed in a shady and moist place away from direct sunlight. Water lightly every day, but do not overwater so that the soil does not become waterlogged. Seedlings will start growing in 7-10 days.

When the seedlings have 2-3 leaves, bring them to direct sunlight little by little. When the seedlings are a little bigger and have 4-6 leaves, separate them and plant them in a large pot or a permanent place. When the seedlings develop 4-6 leaves, separate them and prepare them for transplanting into larger pots or permanent places.

Plant the seedlings 10-15 cm apart to allow enough space. Fertilizer (rotted cow dung or other organic fertilizers) can be applied once a week. Besides watering regularly, keep the surroundings of the plant clean. By following this process, you can easily create marigold seedlings and get healthy and beautiful plants.

A marigold plant is cared for properly and the plant stays healthy and produces beautiful flowers. Marigolds prefer full sun. 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily is good. Marigolds can tolerate warm and mildly cool temperatures. A temperature of 20-30 degrees Celsius is suitable for them.

Loam or sandy loam soil is best for marigolds. The soil should be fertile and drainage should be good. Standing water in the soil can cause plant roots to rot. So take care that the soil can drain water easily. The soil should always be kept moist, but not overwatered.

Water 2-3 times a week during dry season and less need of watering during rainy season. It is better to water in the morning or afternoon. At this time, the soil is facilitated to absorb water. Keep weeds clean around plants. Weeds steal nutrients from plants. Cut off top buds to increase branching and flowering. This will help the plant grow bushier and flower more. Cut off old and dead stems. It keeps the plant healthy.

Rotten dung or compost is good for plant growth. You can apply organic fertilizers once every month. Chemical fertilizers NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potash) fertilizers can be applied for plant growth. You can apply fertilizer in the ratio of 10-10-10.

Fungal diseases can occur on marigold plants. Control the disease by applying fungicides. Marigolds can be attacked by insects such as aphids, mites. Control insects by applying natural insecticides or chemical pesticides.
